How to Create Overlay Text Effect in Photoshop

~Overlay Text Effect in Photoshop~

Exclusive Photoshop Tutorial

Photoshop is a very common and most used Photo Editing Software all over the world. There are thousands of Features of Adobe Photoshop Software. In this tutorial I will show you the way to create Overlay Text Effect by Adobe Photoshop Software. This Overlay Text Effect is really so nice. Just look at the first image given bellow. This is an Example of Overlay Text Effect. I have used Adobe Photoshop CS 8.0 to create this Overlay Text Effect. You may use another version of Adobe Photoshop Software. I have made this Tutorial very simple so that you everyone can make Overlay Text Effect easily. Just follow the steps given bellow to make your Text Overlay Effect.
Step 01: Open Adobe Photoshop CS 8.0 Software or any other version of Adobe Photoshop Software.
Step 02: Double click on the blank screen of the main window of Photoshop to open a photo on which one you want to add a Overlay Text Effect.
Step 03: Now right click on the Text Tool from the left side toolbar and select Horizontal Type Mask Tool as I have shown in the picture given below.
Step 04: Increase the font size to 200 pt as like as the next image. But there is up to 72 pt by default to select in the drop-down menu. So you have click on the box and type 200 pt there.
Step 05: Now click on your Image and type your text. I have typed Fairytips. Move your mouse pointer on the image and stop when your pointer will be like my pointer on the image. Now press down the left button of your mouse and place your text where you prefer most. Press Ctrl+A to select all of the text you have written and replace the text size 200 pt with 300 pt if you think that the text is looking so small.
Step 06: Click on the Move Tool and press Ctrl+C to copy the selected area. Your text will be like the second image given below after pressing Move Tool.

Step 07: Now press Ctrl+V to paste the selected image. After pressing Ctrl+V, you will see nothing on the image without a rectangular box. Because, we have selected a part of the picture, copied that and also pasted that.
Step 08: Now click on the Add a layer style button as like as the first picture given below. Now a new menu will open like the second picture. Check on Bevel and Emboss... as I have shown in the second image. After clicking on the Bevel and Emboss... a new pop-up window will open like the third picture and the text will look like the fourth picture given below.

Step 09: Now select the text style as you like from the blending option showing on the third image given in the Step 08. I think only Drop Shadow may be effective for this tutorial.
