Change the Display Resolution of Netbook
Increase the Display Resolution up to 1152X864 of a Netbook using Registry Editor
Most of the Netbooks are with low screen resolution and it is not more than 1024X600. The manufacturers offer a netbook with 10.1" display size. However, there are some programs you won't be able to run in such a low resolution display. As the maximum resolution is 1024X600 only, then you have nothing to do actually. There are some third party software to solve this problem but doesn't work reliably. So, the perfect solution for you is changing the registry value. Follow the steps given below and change the registry settings as offered, hope you will be surprised to see the change of your display resolution. I have tried it for a Samsung Netbook. The maximum resolution of the netbook was 1024X600. But I have changed that to 1152X864. It's your turn...
Step 01 Open Registry Editor
To increase the Display Resolution of a Netbook, we need to press Windows Key+R Button at a time to open RUN Command Box. Then type regedit into the Text Input Box and press Enter Key or click on OK Button. Then, a pop-up window will open named User Account Control. Click on Yes Button or press Enter Key. This pop-up window will open only if you use Windows 7 or Windows 8 operating system.
Step 02 Find out Display1_DownScalingSupported
Now press Ctrl+F keys together to open the Find Box. You may also open the Find Box by clicking on Edit from the menu bar and then click on Find... from the drop-down menu. However the Search Box will open. Now type DownScalingSupported into the Find What Box and click on Find Button. Wait a while, it may take few minutes also.
Step 03 Change the Value 0 to 1
After finding out the Registry Key Display1_DownScalingSupported, now you have to change the value 0 to 1. To change the value, double click on Display1_DownScalingSupported. Now Restart the Netbook and right click on the desktop, then click on Display Resolution. I hope you will be surprised to see the available resolution.
I have tried the above tricks on a Samsung Netbook. The highest screen resolution of the Netbook was 1024X600 only. After changing the Registry Value I got the maximum resolution 1152X864. After changing the resolution the Icon of the Display and the System font will look smaller. So, go to Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization>Display and change the size of all items to 125% or more by clicking on Custom sizing options.
